If the perfection of art is measured purely by emotional and expressive power, then this art is beyond perfection.

Brighton was born in the dense suburb of Mbare in Harare in the year 1974. After finishing his schooling, Brighton went on to train under the late Daniel Muvurimi along with artist Samson Kurehwatwatiri and in two short years he was skilled enough to carve solo.

His works have been sold the world over and have been on display both at the Chanpunga Gallery in Harare and the Zimbabwe National Gallery.

Brighton was married in 1993 to the “love of his life”, Ellen, and they have had three children together. It is perhaps this deep love that inspires much of Brighton’s works, which often focus around the themes of lovers, mothers, children, and families.

Brighton spends his free time listening to music, going to church, and watching soccer.
