Benaya works with guild artists to make its tiles. The design is drawn on bisque clay, raised lines are applied by hand, colours are layered, and the tile is fired. Fine glaze crazing may develop over time as the clay and glaze respond differently to temperature changes; this is a characteristic of the process.
