Old Tin Roof Dorrie's Dragonfly Necklace
Yukon artist, Esther Winter has combined the warm tones of repurposed antique time with bright new metals to create this unique jewellery.
The antique tin was originally a four gallon "Imperial Gasoline Can", in the 1920's. The can was flattened and repurposed to make a roof for a log cabin. Ten years ago, the cabin had to be dismantled because is was leaning precariously, Esther saved the rood and has repurposed it a second time in this beautiful jewellery.
This necklace features a 2.4 cm x 1.2 cm textured copper chevron triangle resting on a flat 3.5 x 1.8 cm recycled antique tin triangle and is suspended on a 16" sterling silver figaro chain. Total necklace length is 17.5 inches.
